When Pauline Paradise (Alison Steadman) decides that she has had enough of her immediate family, her self-contained husband Ken (Duncan Preston) and their demanding children and grandchildren, she decides to move in with her sister Rowan (Celia Imrie), who has a decidedly more unconventional life.
